Short answer
Your only route is the correction window, if that field is open for correction. The NEET (UG) 2026 bulletin says details become final after fee payment and NTA will not consider any change except in permitted fields during the correction window. For category and PwBD status, NTA does not guarantee any change after you submit, and allows none after the NEET (UG) score is declared.
Based on the NEET (UG) 2026 Information Bulletin. The 2027 bulletin hasn't been published yet — rules can change, so check it when it is.
Who this applies to
NEET (UG) applicants who entered a wrong category, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) status or date of birth
The rule, explained
After you pay the fee and the Confirmation Page is generated, the details in your form are treated as final and non-editable. NTA will not consider requests for change except in the permitted fields during the correction window.
For category and sub-category (PwD/PwBD status), the bulletin says NTA does not guarantee any change after the form is submitted, and no change will be entertained after the NTA score for NEET (UG) is declared.
This matters for counselling. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) says it cannot change the name, date of birth, category, caste or contact details entered by the candidate. The data from the NTA form is passed to MCC pre-filled and used for counselling.
Giving false information or indicating a wrong category or sub-category can lead to rejection of your candidature at any stage of selection.
What the official document says
Any request for change in these particulars will not be considered by NTA under any circumstances except in the permissible fields during stipulated correction window period.
