Short answer
Under the 2026–27 rules, only candidates whose CAP application was registered and confirmed in time appear in the merit list, and only merit-list candidates can take part in CAP rounds. If you registered but did not fill the option form for an earlier round, you can still join later rounds. The documents do not describe a separate late-registration window.
Based on MBA/MMS Admission Notice No. 1 for 2026–27 (02.07.2026) and the State CET Cell's 2026–27 admission brochure. The 2027–28 documents haven't been published yet — rules and dates can change, so check them when they are.
Who this applies to
MBA/MMS candidates in Maharashtra who missed CAP registration or an earlier CAP round
The rule, explained
Every candidate who wants a CAP seat must register online, upload documents and get the application verified and confirmed. Only such registered candidates are considered for the CAP merit list and admission through CAP.
If your application is not confirmed by a Scrutiny Centre or through E-Scrutiny within the timeline, it is rejected, and your name will not appear in the merit lists for either CAP or non-CAP (institute-level) admission.
Round I is open to candidates whose names are in the final merit list. Later rounds are also open to merit-list candidates who did not take part in earlier rounds because they did not fill the option form.
Registration with the State CET Cell is also mandatory if you want an Institutional Quota seat or a seat left vacant after CAP.
The schedule is provisional and may change; any revised schedule is notified on the official website, so check it for changes to registration dates.
