What documents do I need for Maharashtra MBA/MMS CAP?

Previous-year referenceApproved by M.B. Patil Education admissions team, 23 Oct 2026 · source-checked 22 Oct 2026

Short answer

Every candidate uploads scans of the original SSC and HSC/Diploma mark sheets, the qualifying (degree) examination mark sheet, the entrance-test scorecard and proof of Indian nationality. You add documents for your candidature type, such as a domicile or birth certificate, and for any reservation you claim, such as caste validity, non-creamy layer, EWS or disability certificates.

Based on the State CET Cell's Information Brochure for 2026–27 admissions (dated 02.07.2026) and MBA/MMS Admission Notice No. 1 for 2026–27. The 2027–28 documents haven't been published yet — the list and certificate validity dates can change, so check them when they are.

The rule, explained

Upload scans of your original documents while filling the CAP application form, in .jpg or .gif format, at least 150 dpi and up to 1 MB each. Keep the originals for verification. Facilitation Centres help you scan and upload documents free of cost.

All candidates: SSC (Std. X) mark sheet; HSC/Diploma/B.Sc. mark sheet; qualifying examination mark sheet; scorecard of the entrance test; School Leaving Certificate if needed to support a claim; certificate of Indian nationality.

Maharashtra State candidature: Type A – domicile, birth or leaving certificate showing your place of birth in Maharashtra; Type B – domicile certificate of you, your father or your mother; Type C – employer's certificate in Proforma A (parent is a Central Government or Government of India undertaking employee posted in Maharashtra); Type D – employer's certificate in Proforma B (parent is a Maharashtra Government or undertaking employee), or a retired employee's undertaking with evidence of place of settlement; Type E – Proforma G1 (Maharashtra Karnataka border area) and Proforma G2 (Marathi mother tongue).

Reserved categories: SC/ST – caste or tribe certificate and caste or tribe validity certificate. VJ/DT-NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC and SEBC – caste certificate, caste validity certificate and non-creamy layer certificate valid up to 31st March 2027. EWS – Eligibility Certificate for Economically Weaker Section in Proforma V, valid for 2026–27. Orphan – Proforma U. Defence – Proforma C or D, with the parent's domicile certificate (and transfer order and joining report if the parent is not domiciled in Maharashtra). Persons with Disability – certificate in the proforma and your domicile certificate.

If you register in a reserved category but cannot produce the certificate needed for that claim at document verification, you are treated as a General category candidate for CAP and must pay the fee difference of Rs. 200 online. If you submitted only a receipt for a validity, non-creamy layer or EWS certificate, you must upload and verify the original at a Scrutiny Centre and submit it to your admitted institute by the final reporting date of the fourth CAP round, or your admission is cancelled.
