Previous-year referenceApproved by M.B. Patil Education admissions team, 23 Oct 2026 · source-checked 22 Oct 2026

Short answer

All India seats are 15% of the sanctioned intake in Maharashtra MBA/MMS institutes. They are filled through CAP on the percentile score in MAH-MBA/MMS CET, CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT or GMAT, and are treated as General category seats with no reservation.

Based on the State CET Cell's Information Brochure for 2026–27 admissions (dated 02.07.2026). The 2027–28 brochure hasn't been published yet — rules can change, so check it when it is.

Indian citizens seeking an All India seat in first-year MBA/MMS in Maharashtra

The rule, explained

In unaided private management institutes (other than minority institutes), 15% of the sanctioned intake is All India seats. Government and government-aided management institutes and university departments also have 15% All India seats.

These seats are filled through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). Merit is based on the percentile score in the State CET (MAH-MBA/MMS CET), the Common Admission Test (CAT), the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT), the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), the Entrance Test for Management Admissions (ATMA), the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) or the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

All India seats in postgraduate courses, including MBA, are treated as General category seats. There is no reservation in them for reserved categories, women, Persons with Disability, orphans or Defence candidates.
