Do I need original documents at reporting or are attested photocopies enough?

Previous-year referenceApproved by M.B. Patil Education admissions team, 23 Oct 2026 · source-checked 22 Oct 2026

Short answer

You need the originals. MCC's bulletin says you must bring original documents along with attested photocopies when you join the allotted college, and candidates without original certificates will not be allowed to take admission. Photocopies alone are not enough.

Based on MCC's UG Counselling 2026 Information Bulletin (revised 20.08.2026). The 2027 bulletin hasn't been published yet — rules can change, so check it when it is.

Who this applies to

Candidates allotted MBBS/BDS/B.Sc. Nursing seats through MCC counselling

The rule, explained

You must report at the college in person with your original documents to confirm the seat. No one else can submit documents on your behalf.

Both Freeze and Float candidates also upload clear scanned copies of their documents once on the MCC portal. Float candidates (who want upgradation) join online and their uploaded documents are checked online, but they still report in person later — for example after Round 3, if they are not upgraded.

Your admission stays provisional until the college physically verifies your documents. If your originals are deposited with another institute, a certificate saying so is not accepted.
