Short answer
After MCC's final allotment, download your allotment letter and upload clear scans of your documents on the MCC portal, ideally within 2-3 days. 'Freeze' candidates (keeping the seat) then go to the college in person for document verification and pay the admission fee. 'Float' candidates (wanting to upgrade) don't visit; the college verifies their documents online.
These are the rules for MCC's NEET-PG 2026 counselling, which is running now (from MCC's 2026 Information Bulletin). MCC sets the rules again each year.
Who this applies to
Candidates allotted a seat in MCC PG counselling (AIQ, Deemed, Central University/Institute and DNB seats)
The rule, explained
MCC first publishes a provisional result, which can change. Don't book travel on it; wait for the final allotment letter. Every allotment stays provisional until the college verifies your documents.
Document upload is a one-time upload for all rounds and is mandatory for both Freeze and Float candidates. Upload within 2-3 days of the final allotment so you have time to answer any query from the institute.
Freeze candidates: submit physical documents at the institute, get them verified there and pay the admission fee. If the documents are valid, the admission is confirmed. If a discrepancy is found, the admission is cancelled.
Float candidates: the institute's nodal officer checks the uploaded documents online. If there are problems (blurred copies, wrong certificates, category mismatch, missing documents), the Document Verification Committee (DVC) raises a query, and you must re-upload corrected documents in time. If they are in order, the seat is provisionally confirmed; if not, it is cancelled.
After the Round 3 result, all Round 3 allottees and Float candidates of Rounds 1 and 2 who were not upgraded must report in person.
