How does MAH-MBA/MMS CET scoring and percentile work?

Previous-year referenceApproved by M.B. Patil Education admissions team, 23 Oct 2026 · source-checked 22 Oct 2026

Short answer

The Maharashtra MBA/MMS Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS CET) has 200 multiple-choice questions worth 1 mark each, with no negative marking. Your percentile is calculated from your raw (actual) marks. If you take both attempts, the better of your two percentile scores is used for admission.

Based on the MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2026 Information Brochure (updated 09.01.2026) and the State CET Cell's 2026–27 admission brochure. The CET 2027 brochure hasn't been published yet — rules can change, so check it when it is.

Who this applies to

Candidates taking MAH-MBA/MMS CET for admission to the two-year full-time MBA or Master of Management Studies (MMS) in Maharashtra

The rule, explained

The test has four parts: Logical Reasoning (75 questions), Abstract Reasoning (25 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (50 questions) and Verbal Ability/Reading Comprehension (50 questions). Each question carries 1 mark, so the maximum is 200 marks.

Every question has five options. There is no negative marking, so a wrong answer does not cost you marks. The test is online, in English, and lasts 150 minutes.

The CET is offered in two attempts, and each attempt is held in multiple shifts. Percentile scores are calculated from each candidate's raw marks and are declared on the State CET Cell website. If you appear in both attempts, the best of your two percentile scores is considered for admission.

For the Centralized Admission Process (CAP), the MBA merit list is prepared from the entrance-test score. If candidates are tied, the tie is broken in this order: higher percentage of marks in HSC or 10+2 (or Diploma), then in SSC, then in Science in SSC, then in Mathematics in SSC, then in English in SSC.
