How is MAH-MBA/MMS CET normalised across shifts?

Previous-year referenceApproved by M.B. Patil Education admissions team, 23 Oct 2026 · source-checked 22 Oct 2026

Short answer

The MAH-MBA/MMS CET brochure says that when the test is held in more than one session, scores across sessions are equated to adjust for slight differences in difficulty. Percentiles are calculated from raw marks. The brochure does not give the exact method; the State CET Cell publishes it in a separate normalisation document on its official website.

Based on the MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2026 Information Brochure (updated 09.01.2026). The CET 2027 brochure hasn't been published yet — rules can change, so check it when it is.

The rule, explained

Each attempt of MAH-MBA/MMS CET is conducted in multiple shifts (sessions). Different sessions use different sets of questions, and these can differ slightly in difficulty.

To adjust for this, the brochure says the scores across the sessions will be equated. More than one session may be needed if test-centre capacity is limited or if there is a technical disruption at a centre or for a candidate.

Percentile scores are calculated from each candidate's raw (actual) marks, for the first attempt and again for the second attempt.

The brochure does not explain the formula. It says a normalisation document on percentile calculation and result processing will be published on the official website, so read that document for the method.
