Short answer
MCC's list depends on your NRI sub-category. Everyone needs a date of birth certificate, Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates, the NEET-UG score card issued by NTA and a valid passport. You then add documents for your sub-category: an NRI certificate and sponsor affidavit (NRI candidate/parent/sibling), the guardian's passport, NRI certificate, guardianship proof and affidavit (Indian converting to NRI), an OCI/PIO card (OCI candidates), or a visa/residence permit/work permit (foreign nationals).
Based on MCC's UG Counselling 2026 Information Bulletin (revised 20.08.2026). The 2027 bulletin hasn't been published yet — rules can change, so check it when it is.
Who this applies to
Candidates registering for NRI quota seats in Deemed Universities through MCC counselling
The rule, explained
Category I – NRI candidate/parents/real brother/real sister: also an NRI certificate from the competent authority (Embassy/Indian Consulate); a notarised affidavit by the NRI parent, real brother or real sister that they will sponsor the entire course fee and living expenses, supported by an NRE bank account passbook; and the relationship verified by a competent revenue officer (Tehsildar/Government Officer).
Category II – Indian to NRI (you chose the Indian category in the NEET-UG form and want to convert): also the legal guardian's valid passport; the guardian's NRI certificate from the competent authority (Embassy/Indian Consulate); proof of bona fide guardianship under the Guardian and Wards Act 1890; and a notarised affidavit by the guardian to sponsor the entire course fee and living expenses, supported by an NRE (Non-Resident External) bank account passbook.
Category III – OCI candidates: also an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card/PIO card. Category IV – foreign nationals: Class 10 and 12 documents may be Equivalence Certificates from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), plus a visa/residence permit/work permit.
How it works: you select the NRI quota and your sub-category when registering on the MCC portal and upload the documents then. MCC's NRI Document Verification Committee checks them online; if there is a discrepancy you are told by SMS and email and get a correction window. Online verification converts your category to NRI only provisionally — you must produce all the documents in original when you take admission at the allotted institute.
