Engineering counselling — JoSAA, CSAB and Maharashtra CAP

JoSAA conducts a single joint counselling for IITs (through JEE Advanced rank) and NITs, IIITs and other Government-funded technical institutes (through JEE Main rank). Registration, choice filling, round-wise seat allocation and reporting all happen on josaa.nic.in.[1]

After the JoSAA rounds end, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) runs separate special rounds to fill seats that are still vacant in NITs, IIITs and other Government-funded technical institutes, using JEE (Main) rank. CSAB has its own registration and fee; a JoSAA registration does not carry over. The schedule and eligibility for each year are published only on csab.nic.in.[2]

Admission to B.E./B.Tech in Maharashtra’s government, aided and unaided institutes runs through the State CET Cell’s Centralised Admission Process (CAP). Candidates register, have documents verified, receive a provisional and final merit list (MHT CET percentile, or JEE (Main) for the All India seats), fill branch–institute option forms and are allotted seats round by round. The CET Cell publishes the CAP schedule, merit lists, seat matrix and round-wise cut-offs; follow only the official CET Cell portal for dates and documents.[3]
