How many colleges should I fill in MCC choice filling and in what order?

Previous-year referenceApproved by M.B. Patil Education admissions team, 23 Oct 2026 · source-checked 22 Oct 2026

Short answer

MCC sets no limit — you can fill as many choices of colleges and courses (MBBS, BDS, B.Sc. Nursing) as you wish. The choices must be in your order of preference, with the one you want most first, because MCC allots seats on the basis of merit and your preferences.

Based on MCC's UG Counselling 2026 Information Bulletin (revised 20.08.2026). The 2027 bulletin hasn't been published yet — rules can change, so check it when it is.

Who this applies to

Candidates filling choices in MCC counselling for AIQ, Deemed, Central University, AIIMS, JIPMER, AMU, BHU and B.Sc. Nursing seats

The rule, explained

One common software is used for choice filling across AIQ, Deemed and Central Universities, B.Sc. Nursing, AIIMS, JIPMER, AMU and BHU.

MCC advises going through the list of available seats and preparing a tentative list in your order of preference first, before filling choices online.

In later rounds you fill fresh choices. If you are upgraded, your earlier seat is cancelled and you have no claim on it, so MCC advises filling only choices you prefer over the seat you already have.

MCC does not tell you which colleges to choose or how many. Choices can't be changed once locked.
