Previous-year referenceApproved by M.B. Patil Education admissions team, 23 Oct 2026 · source-checked 23 Oct 2026

Based on the State CET Cell's Information Brochure for UG and PG technical course admissions, Academic Year 2026–27 (dated 02.07.2026), and its MBA/MMS Admission Notice No. 1 for 2026–27 (dated 02/07/2026). 1. 1

    CAP Round I

    Who can take part

Candidates whose name is in the final merit list of CAP, by filling the online option form. Only candidates who registered online, uploaded documents and had their application confirmed (by a Scrutiny Centre or E-Scrutiny) are considered for the CAP merit list. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh migrant candidates instead approach the institute directly, after registration and confirmation, where such a quota is granted.

    What you do

    1. 1
Register online on www.mahacet.org as per the schedule. Candidates registered for MBA/MMS CET 2026 pay no registration fee. Candidates applying with a valid CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT or GMAT score who did not register for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2026 pay a non-refundable online fee: ₹ 1500/- for General category candidates (Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State, and Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh migrant candidates) and ₹ 1300/- for reserved category and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State.

    2. 2
While filling the online form, choose one mode of document verification: E-Scrutiny (documents verified online, no visit needed) or Physical Scrutiny (visit the nearest Scrutiny Centre or Facilitation Centre). Resolve any discrepancy marked in your application within the given time — if your application isn't confirmed, it is rejected and your name won't appear in the merit lists for CAP or non-CAP admission.
      Official sources
    3. 3
Reserved category candidates must produce their Caste or Tribe Validity Certificate, and (except SC and ST) a Non-Creamy Layer certificate valid up to 31st March 2027; EWS candidates need the EWS eligibility certificate. If you can't produce the original certificate or its receipt at verification, you are treated as a General category candidate for CAP admissions.

The provisional allotment is shown on the website — no letters or personal messages are sent. If you are allotted a seat, download the "Provisional Seat Allotment Letter".
      Official sources
    11. 11
To accept a seat, report to the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) for document verification, or scrutinise your uploaded documents yourself in the online system, and pay the seat acceptance fee. The fee is treated as a non-refundable processing fee.

For MBA/MMS, the notice lists the post-allotment steps as self-confirmation before seat acceptance, paying the seat acceptance fee online to confirm admission, and reporting to the institute.
      Official source
    13. 13
After accepting at the ARC or by self-scrutiny, report to the allotted institute. The institute verifies your documents, uploads your admission online and gives you a system-generated receipt confirming admission.

Institute level (Institutional Quota and vacant seats after CAP)

    Who can take part

Candidates who have applied to the Competent Authority for verification of documents and then to the institution. These seats (Institutional Quota and seats left vacant after the CAP rounds) are filled by the institute's Director or Principal strictly by inter-se-merit. For MBA/MMS, the notice says it is mandatory for candidates seeking Institutional Quota seats or seats vacant after CAP to register and have their documents verified and application confirmed by a Scrutiny Centre or E-Scrutiny.

    What you do

    1. 1
Each institution publishes its brochure or prospectus with its admission rules, and invites applications till the date of allotment of the final CAP round, advertising the schedule and the number of seats in each course on its website.
      Official sources
    2. 2
Apply directly to the institution. If you can't, you can apply through the Competent Authority's website till the date of allotment of the final CAP round; these applications are forwarded to the institutions after the allotment of CAP Round IV.
      Official sources
    3. 3
After verifying documents, the institution displays the inter-se-merit lists and the vacant seats after CAP on its notice board and website.
      Official sources
    4. 4
A CAP seat left vacant after the CAP rounds is first filled by a candidate from the same category it was earmarked for during CAP, and then by inter-se-merit of the applicants. Maharashtra State candidates get preference over All India candidates.
